Luis was distinguished by the prestigious Best Lawyers directories in litigation in Spain in 2019 and by the Leaders League in commercial litigations, and in international arbitration in 2018.
He has a Law degree from Abat Oliba – CEU University, Barcelona (2003).
Postgraduate course specialising in Civil Litigations from UPF-IDEC University, Barcelona (2005 – 2006).
Postgraduate course on Companies in Crisis from UPF-IDEC University, Barcelona (2008 – 2009).
Executive MBA programme at ESADE Business School, Madrid (2010 – 2011).
Luis Cordón embarked on his professional career in the procedural department of Deloitte in 2003. In 2007 he joined PwC, where he worked in the procedural law, insolvency and arbitrations area until 2013, when he joined CASES & LACAMBRA as a responsible partner in the litigations and arbitrations area. In 2020 he joined TORNOS as the Head of the Firm’s litigations and arbitrations practice.
During his extensive professional career, he has always given advice on conflicts derived from commercial relations and complex banking agreements, in pre-contentious advice to try and avoid litigation and in legal proceedings before civil and commercial jurisdictions. In parallel, he has consolidated a solid arbitration practice, acting as an arbitrator appointed by the Arbitration Courts of Madrid and Barcelona, representing clients in national and international arbitrations before institutions such as the ICC, ICSID and SCC.
He is an associate professor at the Higher Institute of Law and Economics (ISDE), where he teaches procedural and insolvency law on the Master’s Degree in International Law and Master’s Degree of Access to the Legal Profession programmes.
He is a member of Barcelona Bar Association and of the Spanish Arbitration Club.
