The study analyses the role of major cities and metropolitan areas in the management of EU Structural Funds in the context of strong claims for an increasing role of metropolises in the European Agenda. According to the study results, these institutions should assume relevant functions with regard to decision making, management and control of EU funds and not only play the role of beneficiaries.<\/p>\n

The study was drafted in April 2016 by the Department of Studies and International Technical Assistance of Tornos Abogados at the request of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. The full version of the study is available in English. There is also an executive summary in Catalan.<\/p>\n
